How employer benefits affect job selection

When choosing a job, the company car for men can be the tip on the scales. This is the result of a Forsa survey commissioned by job market Jobware. Companies offering additional services in addition to reasonable compensation have better chances of recruiting.

For 45 percent of the men surveyed, a company car is an important criterion for choosing an employer. This is the result of the Jobware Trend Report 2019, which randomly surveyed more than 1,000 workers aged 18 to 60 years.

Among working women, only one in five (20 percent) claim to be guided by the company car offer when deciding on a job. More important are female employees in addition to salary benefits such as the free or discounted use of fitness offers (33 percent). Overall, for about a third of respondents a company car is an add-on that they would like to claim.

Amount of income relevant for company car request
In addition to gender, the amount of income apparently influences the company car's wish. According to the survey, 38 percent of employees speculate with a household net income of more than 3,000 euros on a company car. For employees with monthly salaries ranging from 1,500 to 3,000 euros per month, this figure is only 30 per cent, and for employees with lower pay, the company car does not play any role.

Despite flexible working time models, home office offers, job cycle or occupational health management, the company car has not lost any of its appeal to employees, especially men, and is a means for employers to attract high potentials.
