New drive test building in the Porsche development center
The Porsche development center Weissach has commissioned a new drive test building. There are eighteen test benches for conventional, hybrid and electric drives available.
The new building in the Porsche development center Weissach combines test benches for conventional, hybrid and electric drives under one roof. Thus, the number of available test benches in Weissach increases to around 70. "With the 18 new test benches, we can test and document our progress even more precisely - regardless of whether they are conventional, hybrid or all-electric drive technologies," says Michael Steiner, Board Member for Research and Development at Porsche AG.
The entire electric drive system is being tested on the new high-voltage composite test bench for all-electric vehicles. Gregor Haffke, Head of Powertrain Testing at Porsche explains: "Including the real battery as installed in the vehicle."
